Healthy Almond Flour Chocolate Chip Cookies, Sweetened with Maple
I love these cookies for when I’m craving something sweet but want to feel good after. They’re gluten-free, refined sugar-free, and low in sugar — with optional oats for a grain-free version. They’re full of nutrients from grass-fed butter, almonds, and dark chocolate and high in healthy fats for a more gentle insulin release. A perfect healthy dessert that satisfies your sweet tooth.

Healthy Almond Flour Chocolate Chip Cookies, Sweetened with Maple
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup grass-fed raw butter, room temp (113g)
- 1/3 cup pure maple syrup (107g)
- 1 egg
- 2 cups Almond Flour from soaked/sprouted almonds (blanched or unbalanced)
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup sprouted oats (optional) can sub more chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips or chopped chocolate I use the HU dark chocolate salty bar
Instructions
- Cream the butter and maple syrup together in a stand mixer
- Add the egg and mix
- Add the rest of the ingredients, except the oats and chocolate
- Once well combined, fold in the oats and chocolate
- Chill the dough for at least one hour or overnight. This is important for the structure of the dough.
- Preheat the oven to 350 F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and scoop the cookies on to the sheet
- Bake for 10-12 minutes and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet. If the cookies didn't spread very much while baking, tap the pan on the counter to flatten them right after pulling them out of the oven. Top with flaky sea salt if desired
Notes
These cookies are delicate!! They can fall apart easily, especially if you take them off of the sheet before cooling. It’s important to be gentle with them.
I hope you love them as much as my family does!
